The Program
The majestic setting mixed with musical immersion, inspiration, encouragement and support set the stage for magic at Jazz Camp WEST. Jazz Camp offers:
- The chance for you to create a personal schedule from over 100 classes offered each day!
- Instrumental, vocal, and dance classes for the complete beginner or the seasoned professional.
- Musical styles including traditional and contemporary Jazz, Blues, Latin, Reggae, Brazilian, Funk, Afro-Cuban and Gospel.
- Instrumental workshops in piano, guitar, bass, drums, reeds, percussion, steel drums and specialty instruments, including violin and vibes are offered daily.
- Combos; Jazz and Latin Big Band; Blues, Bob Marley, Salsa, Brazilian and Funk workshops; theory and ear training; Performance Anxiety and performance workshops.
- Vocal classes including an audition-only Vocal Intensive Program, Master classes, soloing, improvisation, ensemble singing, repertoire and the All-Camp Gospel Choir.
- Dance classes including jazz, salsa/rueda and Brazilian. Plus, special Body Percussion classes.
- The opportunity to perform with students and faculty before a live audience at Open Mic.
- Exceptional nightly faculty concerts in a beautiful outdoor amphitheater.
- Late night jam sessions, our outdoor jazz film series and dessert.
